Football matches in Basel

FC Basel 1893 is the catalog club kept on this Basel page, and the club arrival page that was opened puts the way to St. Jakob-Park on tram and bus, not on a single door. BVB bus 36 and BLT buses 37 and 47 stop at the halt in the Hagnaustrasse before and after matches. Tram 14 stops at St. Jakob, a few steps from the stadium. From Basel SBB the club names trams 8, 10, or 11 for one stop to Aeschenplatz and a change there to line 14, about 10 minutes. BVB adds that tram 14 runs towards Pratteln Schlossstrasse, and it also names trams 10 and 11 as far as Dreispitz, then about a ten-minute walk or buses 36, 37, and 47 to the stop in the Hagnaustrasse on the Birs. From Badischer Bahnhof, bus 36 runs without a change, about 15 minutes. The Joggeli-Shuttle runs at large events between Basel SBB and the stadium's own stop, about 5 minutes. An FC Basel 1893 match ticket, on the club page, is valid on the match day with the operators taking part in the Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz.

Plan a visit in the city

Settle FC Basel 1893 and the date first, then read the club transport page and the BVB page for St. Jakob-Park together. From Basel SBB it is trams 8, 10, or 11 to Aeschenplatz and then tram 14. BVB names Pratteln Schlossstrasse as the direction for tram 14, and for the return it names Dreirosenbrücke as far as Aeschenplatz, then 8, 10, or 11 again to Basel SBB. Leaving at Dreispitz means about a ten-minute walk or buses 36, 37, and 47 to the Hagnaustrasse. From Badischer Bahnhof it stays bus 36. The Joggeli-Shuttle is not an all-day timetable. Departures, on the club page, are published from about two days before a home match on the FCB site, or after the match on the stadium screen. The car park under St. Jakob-Park is open only to invited guests when the football match is on a Sunday. Parkhaus St. Jakob by the St. Jakobshalle, Parkhaus Leimgrube at Dreispitz, and Parkhaus Ruchfeld are the alternatives the club page names. A match ticket does not replace a rail ticket on a direct train as far as Basel. Inside the TNW the club counts it on the match day.

What to distinguish in this travel scope

Tram 14, stop St. Jakob

The club writes that the St. Jakob stop on BVB tram 14 is only a few steps from St. Jakob-Park. BVB adds the direction. Before the match, tram 14 runs from Aeschenplatz towards Pratteln Schlossstrasse as far as St. Jakob. After the match the same line runs towards Dreirosenbrücke back to Aeschenplatz. Passengers change there to lines 8, 10, or 11 if they want Basel SBB. Buses 36, 37, and 47 are the other door on both pages. They stop in the Hagnaustrasse, and BVB adds that this is on the Birs. BVB writes that it strengthens the service before and after FC Basel 1893 matches at St. Jakob-Park, and it still asks passengers to allow enough time. The tram stop St. Jakob and the bus stop in the Hagnaustrasse are therefore two different places to get off.

SBB, Badischer Bahnhof, and the shuttle

From Basel SBB the club names trams 8, 10, or 11 to Aeschenplatz and then tram 14, with a journey of about 10 minutes. BVB names that same change and also lines 10 and 11 as far as Dreispitz, then about a ten-minute walk to the stadium. From Badischer Bahnhof the club page keeps bus 36 with no change, about 15 minutes, and it brings passengers near St. Jakob-Park. The Joggeli-Shuttle runs at large events between Basel SBB and the stadium's own stop, about 5 minutes. The departures are not fixed on this page. They are to be read on the FCB site from about two days before a home match, or on the stadium screen after the match. From the Euroairport the club names bus 50 to Basel SBB and then the same tram route, about 40 minutes in all.

Sunday parking and the TNW

Parking St. Jakob-Park under the stadium is, on the club page, open only to invited guests when a football match is played on a Sunday. Parkhaus St. Jakob, by the St. Jakobshalle opposite, can be used if it is not taken for something else. Parkhaus Leimgrube is at Dreispitz, and Parkhaus Ruchfeld is another possibility the page names. In the sentence about further car parks in the city, the page names bus 36 as far as St. Jakob-Park. A match ticket, whether a season card or a single ticket, allows travel on the match day with the operators taking part in the Tarifverbund Nordwestschweiz. On a direct train as far as Basel, the same page still requires a rail ticket to Basel. Someone who buys the match ticket only at the ground can use it the same way on the way back. That is what the club page states. The BVB page that was opened does not repeat this TNW rule.
