Football matches in Belfast

The catalog string Belfast contains Cliftonville, Crusaders, Glentoran and Linfield. The Irish FA fan guide describes the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park at Donegall Avenue, Belfast BT12 6LU. Translink Metro bus 9 runs from the city centre to City Hospital, then the walk follows Lisburn Road and turns right into Lower Windsor Avenue across the railway footbridge. The nearest rail stop in the guide is Adelaide Halt, with trains from Great Victoria Street on the Bangor-Belfast-Lisburn-Portadown-Newry line. Most supporters are told to enter by Boucher Road. The two association sheets that were opened do not name Cliftonville, Crusaders, Glentoran or Linfield as users of this route, so the description applies to the national stadium.

Plan a visit in the city

First check whether the match is at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park. The sheets that were opened cover only that ground. The address is Donegall Avenue, Belfast BT12 6LU. By bus the guide uses Metro line 9 to City Hospital and then the walk by Lisburn Road and Lower Windsor Avenue. By rail Adelaide Halt is the nearest stop, and the second sheet says Adelaide is not step-free, while City Hospital halt is, with about a one-mile walk by Donegall Road and Donegall Avenue. The recommended stadium entrance is Boucher Road. Cliftonville, Crusaders, Glentoran and Linfield are not on these sheets, so their ground has to come from the club page for the match.
