Football matches in Groningen

The catalog string Groningen and the catalog club Groningen appear on the club pages as FC Groningen, and the ground as Euroborg. The route page advises walking, cycling or public transport on a match day. Bicycles can be left without a charge on and around Boumaboulevard, and also at Europapark station or behind the Kolenmuur. Europapark has its own station. The page writes that trains of NS and Ariva stop there, and it links the timetables to ns.nl and arriva.nl. Qbuzz city buses are placed on 9292ov.nl. With Drenthe Tours, shuttles run from P&R Hoogkerk on the A7 and from P&R Haren on the A28, from two hours before kickoff every 10 minutes, last ride to the ground 25 minutes before kickoff, drop-off on Boumaboulevard, and back until one hour after the end. For that return ride the page states a charge that can be paid only by card, and the amount is not repeated here. On a day without a match the navigation address is Boumaboulevard 41, 9723 ZS Groningen. The ticket FAQ names three routes, the online shop, the main entrance on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00, and the box office beside entrance 2. The pinned Eredivisie revision puts Groningen on Groningen and Euroborg.

Groningen at a glance

This page includes only catalog entries whose city string is exactly Groningen. Hoogkerk and Haren stay the named park-and-ride departures and are not attached.

Plan a visit in the city

First separate the catalog club Groningen from an away trip. The route page describes the journey to Euroborg, not the ride to the opponent. By train, Europapark station is the station the club names, with the spelling Ariva next to NS. By bus, take the Qbuzz times from 9292ov.nl. By car from further out, use the shuttle from P&R Hoogkerk or P&R Haren, and do not assume Boumaboulevard is an open drive-in. P1, P2 MyOffice and P3 are reserved or paid on the page, P4 is for the other club's supporters, and P5 Hanos on Bornholmstraat is the lot home supporters are usually sent to. Tickets, according to the FAQ, go through the ticket shop, the main entrance or the box office beside entrance 2. Presale starts four weeks ahead on Tuesday at 10:00, and open sale three weeks ahead, again on Tuesday at 10:00. The FAQ says that can change. For most matches it does not require a club card, and for matches it treats as higher risk it does.

What to distinguish in this travel scope

Europapark station and Qbuzz

The route page gives Euroborg its own station at Europapark. It writes that trains of NS and Ariva stop at Station Europapark, and it sets the links to ns.nl and to arriva.nl. The spelling Ariva is what the page prints. Qbuzz city buses to Euroborg and back are placed on 9292ov.nl, without a line number printed on the club page itself. Bicycles can be left without a charge on and around Boumaboulevard, and also at Europapark station or behind the Kolenmuur. On days without a match the same page again recommends a bicycle and public transport, and for a car it gives the address Boumaboulevard 41, 9723 ZS Groningen, into the garage under the stadium.

Shuttles from Hoogkerk and Haren

Together with Drenthe Tours, FC Groningen runs shuttles from P&R Hoogkerk on the A7 and from P&R Haren on the A28. From two hours before kickoff a bus leaves each of those points every 10 minutes. The drop-off is on Boumaboulevard in front of the ground. The last bus to the stadium leaves 25 minutes before kickoff. The return runs until one hour after the end of home matches, back to Hoogkerk and Haren. The page states a charge for the return ride and says payment is by card only. The amount is not repeated here. Hoogkerk and Haren are the boarding points of these buses, not second catalog cities. P4 stays reserved for the other club's supporters. How they travel is set by the clubs with the local authorities.

Entrances 1, 2 and 4

The ticket FAQ names three sale routes. Online through the ticket shop, at the main entrance of Euroborg Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, and at the box office beside entrance 2 from two hours before kickoff. On match day the information desk beside entrance 2 runs from one and a half hours before kickoff until 15 minutes after. The Tonny van Leeuwen stand, which the page calls the Noordtribune, uses entrance 1 for sections A to G and entrance 2A for AA to GG. Piet Fransen is at entrances 2B and 3, with the flexible away section in OO, PP and QQ on the second ring. Familie Koeman, the family stand, uses entrance 4, sections R to X and RR to VV. Children up to and including two years come in without a ticket of their own, on a lap. Four weeks before the home match, presale starts on Tuesday at 10:00 for season-card and club-card holders, two tickets per card. Three weeks before, open sale starts, again on Tuesday at 10:00. For the organized away buses the same FAQ writes the Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadion as the departure point. The route page does not use that name and describes the journey to Euroborg.
