Football matches in Leipzig

RB Leipzig is the catalog club for Leipzig. The Red Bull Arena home-match page says there is no parking in the immediate stadium surroundings, and it lets season and day tickets ride the MDV area from five hours before the match until five hours after. The City of Leipzig names tram lines 3, 7, 8 and 15 to the stops Waldplatz or Sportforum for the Sportforum, and line 4 to Feuerbachstraße. From the main station, lines 3, 4, 7 and 15 take four stops and about seven minutes. LVB adds the stops Sportforum Süd, Marschnerstraße, Waldplatz, Feuerbachstraße, Am Mückenschlösschen and Sportforum Ost, and runs extra lines on an RB Leipzig match day. The bike stations on the east and west sides of the Festwiese have 2,600 spaces and are open from three hours before kick-off until 90 minutes after. Entry starts two hours before kick-off at Festwiese, Stadionvorplatz and Rosengarten. The stadium-tour directions are not a match ticket, and they close Jahnallee to cars between Bowmanstraße and Marschnerstraße until November 2026. The home-match page closes it to cars between Marschnerstraße and Capastraße until the expected end of 2026.

Selected match pages

These pages are separate from the D1 snapshot. Each page gives the date and ticket route only when a checked match source states them.

Plan a visit in the city

Choose RB Leipzig and the date first and open the Red Bull Arena home-match page, not the stadium-tour directions. A stadium tour is not a match ticket, and the two pages do not print the same closure of Jahnallee. For the tram use the City of Leipzig page. Lines 3, 7, 8 and 15 to Waldplatz or Sportforum, line 4 to Feuerbachstraße. The LVB page names the match-day stops and points to its journey planner, because the numbers of the extra lines are shown there as a graphic. By car use the park-and-ride sites on the home-match page, Leipziger Messe, Schönauer Ring, Plovider Straße, Lausen and Völkerschlachtdenkmal, then the tram. On that page bikes belong at the Festwiese.

What to distinguish in this travel scope

Lines 3, 7, 8, 15 and 4

The City of Leipzig puts the Sportforum, with Red Bull Arena and Arena Leipzig, on the tram. Lines 3, 7, 8 and 15 stop at Waldplatz or Sportforum, and line 4 stops at Feuerbachstraße. Lines 3, 4, 7 and 15 run via the main station, four stops and about seven minutes. The page gives the directions as line 3 toward Knautkleeberg, line 4 toward Gohlis, Landsberger Straße, line 7 toward Böhlitz-Ehrenberg and line 15 toward Miltitz. LVB adds the stops Sportforum Süd, Marschnerstraße, Waldplatz, Feuerbachstraße, Am Mückenschlösschen and Sportforum Ost, and it announces extra lines for an RB Leipzig match day. The numbers of those extra lines sit on the opened LVB page in a graphic, not as a readable sentence. The home-match page sets the travel right on season and day tickets to five hours before and five hours after the match across the MDV area.

Festwiese, 2,600 bikes, three gates

The home-match page says there is no direct parking in the stadium surroundings. As park-and-ride it names Leipziger Messe, Schönauer Ring, Plovider Straße, Lausen and the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, each with a tram onward to the Red Bull Arena. Bikes go to the stations on the east and west sides of the Festwiese, 2,600 spaces together, supervised and without a charge, open from three hours before kick-off until 90 minutes after the final whistle. Entry always starts two hours before kick-off. Three entrances and 79 turnstiles. Festwiese 42, Stadionvorplatz 22, Rosengarten 15. The city page recommends the same public transport and notes that parking is limited because of the central location.

Two closure texts for Jahnallee

The stadium-tour directions describe the way to a tour, not a match ticket. They close the Zeppelinbrücke until November 2026 and close Jahnallee to cars for the whole works between Bowmanstraße and Marschnerstraße. The diversion into the city is via Schleußiger Weg and Marschnerstraße, and out of the city via Leutzscher Allee and Hans-Driesch-Straße. Bikes and people on foot stay on at least one side of the bridge. The same page names lines 3, 7, 8 and 15 to the stop Sportforum, about 400 metres on foot, and lines 3, 7 or 15 from the main station. The home-match page dates the renewal of the Zeppelinbrücke and the tracks between Sportforum Süd and Capastraße from 3 July 2024 until the end of 2026 is expected, and it closes Jahnallee to cars between Marschnerstraße and Capastraße. People on foot and bikes can use the bridge in both directions. The tram runs on a single track with a longer journey. Cottaweg and the stadium stay reachable by bike and on foot.
