Football matches in Munich

Bayern Munich is the catalog club kept for the city string Munich. The Allianz Arena match-day page prints the place as München-Fröttmaning and the address Allianz Arena, Franz-Beckenbauer-Platz 5, 80939 München, outside the Munich environmental zones. For rail and U-Bahn it describes the same route for FC Bayern München home matches. From Munich central station or from Münchener-Ostbahnhof, take the S-Bahn to Marienplatz and change to the U6 toward Garching-Forschungszentrum as far as Fröttmaning. The page gives the ride from Marienplatz to Fröttmaning as about 16 minutes. From the U-Bahn, follow the signs Eingang Süd/Home Fans, then the Esplanade. The same page says outright that the match ticket does not include travel on the MVV, S-Bahn, bus, U-Bahn, train, or tram. By car the site is reachable only via the motorways. From the south it names the A9, exit 73 München-Fröttmaning-Süd, and the lower access on level 0. From the north it names the A99, exit 12b München-Fröttmaning-Nord, and the upper access on level 2. The first car park opens at 08:00 on a match day. Entry height stops at 2 metres and width at 2.30 metres. Taller vehicles are sent to the guest car park. The car parks close four hours after the final whistle. Leaving them, the page allows for waits of up to 2.5 hours. Bus park north has 400 bicycle spaces next to the north entrance. The southern meeting point is at gate 13 by the family entrance and is staffed. The northern one is opposite the ticket windows. Fan buses may enter the site from 10:00. The guest bus park is only for away fans. On Bundesliga home match days the FC Bayern Museum opens again for two hours after the final whistle. On this page that is not a match ticket.

Selected match pages

These pages are separate from the D1 snapshot. Each page gives the date and ticket route only when a checked match source states them.

Plan a visit in the city

Choose Bayern Munich and the date first, then use the Allianz Arena match-day page rather than a non-match arrival note. For the train, plan the change at Marienplatz onto the U6 toward Garching-Forschungszentrum as far as Fröttmaning, and from there follow the signs Eingang Süd/Home Fans. The match ticket does not cover the MVV ride. A fare for the S-Bahn and the U6 has to be settled separately, because the opened page names no included transit pass and no ticket shop. By car, pick the exit from the direction of travel, level 0 from the south on the A9 or level 2 from the north on the A99, and allow up to 2.5 hours to leave the car park. Vehicles taller than 2 metres belong in the guest car park. The museum reopening after the whistle on Bundesliga home match days does not replace the match ticket.

What to distinguish in this travel scope

U6 to Fröttmaning, no MVV in the ticket

The match-day page sends rail passengers from Munich central station or from Münchener-Ostbahnhof by S-Bahn to Marienplatz, then onto the U6 toward Garching-Forschungszentrum. The stop is Fröttmaning. From Marienplatz that takes about 16 minutes. The signs read Eingang Süd/Home Fans, and the path after that is the Esplanade. The same page separates the match ticket from local transport. It does not entitle the holder to travel on the MVV, S-Bahn, bus, U-Bahn, train, or tram. On this page a stadium ticket is not a transit pass.

A9 level 0 and A99 level 2

By car, the Allianz Arena match-day page says the ground is reachable only via the motorways. From the south the named exit is 73 München-Fröttmaning-Süd on the A9, using the lower access on level 0 so the later exit points south again. From the north it is exit 12b München-Fröttmaning-Nord on the A99 and the upper access on level 2. The first car park opens at 08:00. Taller than 2 metres or wider than 2.30 metres does not fit that entrance. The page sends those vehicles to the guest car park. The car parks close four hours after the final whistle, and leaving can take up to 2.5 hours.

Gate 13, the north entrance, and the guest bus park

The match-day page sets two meeting points. In the south it is gate 13, directly by the family entrance, and staff are there. In the north the meeting point is opposite the ticket windows. Bicycles have 400 spaces at bus park north, next to the north entrance. Taxis stand to the north behind the arena at bus park north, and to the south at the foot of the Esplanade on bus park south. Fan buses may use three bus parks from 10:00. The guest bus park is exclusively for away fans. On Bundesliga home match days the FC Bayern Museum opens again for two hours after the final whistle. That does not replace the match ticket.
