Football matches in Sunderland
Sunderland is the catalog club for this city string, and the pages opened here describe arrival at the Stadium of Light. The club help page, updated on 9 July 2026, leaves Sunderland railway station toward Keel Square, follows the signs for the Keel Crossing, crosses the pedestrian bridge over the River Wear, and continues straight on Legends' Way or Millennium Way. It allows 10 to 15 minutes for that walk. Travel North East uses a different route from the same station, along Fawcett Street and across Monkwearmouth Bridge, and allows about 18 minutes. That guide places the stadium north west of the Wearmouth Bridge. Both pages name the Metro stations Stadium of Light and St Peter's. Only the club page lists bus routes 3, 4, 13, 35, 35A and 56. Park Lane Interchange is about 15 minutes on the club page, about 20 minutes in one sentence of the transport guide, and about 25 minutes in the guide's written walking route. Those figures stay separate because neither page corrects the other.
Sunderland at a glance
This page includes only catalog entries whose city string is exactly Sunderland. A bridge or a station named along the way does not add another place. The stadium list follows the place strings Monkwearmouth.

Plan a visit in the city
Settle the club and the date first, which means Sunderland and the specific match, before picking a route. From Sunderland station, follow the walk on the page you are reading. The club help page says 10 to 15 minutes via the Keel Crossing, and Travel North East says about 18 minutes via Monkwearmouth Bridge. After the match, the transport guide keeps St Peter's platform 2 toward Newcastle closed for about an hour and tells Newcastle-bound passengers to use Stadium of Light station during that closure. The club page makes the same split. South Hylton passengers board at St Peter's, and Newcastle passengers board at Stadium of Light. Only the club page gives the road approach, the A19 and the A1(M) via the A1231 Wessington Way. The home ticket note links a purchase path on tickets.safc.com and says dates and times can change. The June 2026 store note places the stadium shop at Black Cat House on Millennium Way, postcode SR5 1SU, and does not describe that building as a turnstile.
